I've been told by some people that I can't install a shift light on the 4.6 because 4.6 GT engine has 2 coils (or something like that). they were wrong. Anyways This is what i did.

Installation:

I decided to splice the Shiftlight into my tach wire.

hook up red to power (i hooked it up to a 20 amp fuse in the fuse box) Back is ground (hooked it up to a screw next to the fuse box)

And Green wire (which will turn on your Light)

I took out the speedometer and tach and unplugged the wires at the back of the factory tach there will be lots of lines or whatever that is ( i guess it shows you where each wire is going. So at the back of the tach there will be 4 metal plates marked TACH, G, S, G (i think) Anyways you want to hook up your Shift light to letter "S"

SO find the letter "S" and follow the line to see which wire is going to "S" (i think it's Yellow with grey stripe) Splice the green wire into that wire, and you're done.

BTW while you have your Speedo and tach out, if your CHECK ENGINE LIGHT is ON you can take out the check engine light bulbĀ  and that ugly light will not light up again.. I guarantee it :)

Now put everything back the way it was and find a place for the shift light and you're ready to roll.
