ImageNobody has ever gotten their hands on the Lochness Monster, but with Fox Lake's head cam and intake package you can build a monster of your own. The collosal gains will make you the terror of the streets. Expect to bolt on around 80 Rear Wheel Horsepower in naturally aspirated applications and 100 or more RWHP in blown applications. Regardless of which way you're going to go with your mods, this is a foundation that will serve you well in either capacity.

Like a house, a bridge, a road, or anything else an engine must have a proper foundation if it is to reach maximum potential. Certainly you can bolt on parts to make your Mustang faster, but if you're bolting everything on to a limited foundation then your horsepower returns will be marginal at best. The stock heads, cams and intake are designed for mass-production and cost effectiveness. These traits are not particularly suited for making the horsepower levels that your typical Mustang enthusiast demands. Thus the stock 4.6 liter long-block is not a particularly impressive foundation.

For those with the Ford 302/351 Windsor engine platform the choices for cams, intakes and heads is staggering. At least a half-dozen companies offer intakes for the Windsor platform and just and many offer alternate heads. Unfortunately the market has been slow to respond to the Modular engine platform, which took up residency in the Mustang in 1996.
Fox Lake has now stepped into the ring with an impressive contender - the P-51 Modular Intake system.

ImageYou can get the P-51 bundled with a set of ported heads and cams or simply purchase either component individually. For about the same price of a supercharger you can achieve phenomenal gains in naturally aspirated applications. For those who already have a supercharger you can relive that first drive after you put the blower on. With the
Fox Lake Heads, Cam and Intake (HCI) package you'll feel as if your supercharger has another supercharger!

We took Project Mongoose99 and added a Fox Lake P-51 Intake with Stage 2 ported heads and a set of Comp Cams 2V cams. The results were simply amazing! First we'll take a look at the P-51 Intake.

You can buy the P-51 intake as either a kit, which includes Creative Mustang Performance fuel rails, adapters, steel braided fuel lines and AN fittings; or you can purchase the P-51 alone without any additional hardware. The second option would be for those who already have aftermarket fuel rails, and you will need them to install the intake.

The intake fits under the stock 1999-2004 hood, although we have seen some evidence of slight rubbing on a dime-sized portion of the intake. A few readers on our Forums had to cut a small hole in the underside of the hood for some additional clearance. Unfortunately, 1996-1998 Mustang owners will need an aftermarket hood. The intake also has all the necessary components and mountings to utilize the factory brackets for throttle cable, etc. Unlike swapping to a Bullitt intake you will not need to replace things like the alternator, throttle body and other components that are not usually factored into the cost of the swap.
